  • Day 1

    Mangalore to Bekal transfer

    • On arrival at Mangalore airport/Kasaragod railway station, our representative will pick you and transfer to the resort in Bekal.
    • Check-in at the resort and relax.
    • Rest of the day at leisure.
    • Overnight stay in Bekal.
  • Day 2

    Local tour & Bekal fort visit

    • Start your day by visiting the Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, a spiritually charged location dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
    • The temple is renowned for its serene atmosphere and divine presence. After your temple visit, head to a Kasaragod saree- making unit to witness the intricate process of weaving these beautiful, hand-crafted sarees.
    • Head to Bekal Fort, one of the largest and most majestic forts in Kerala.
    • Built in the 17th century by the rulers of the Ikkeri Dynasty, the fort is an architectural marvel and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
    • After exploring the fort, take a stroll along Bekal Beach, located right beside the fort.
    • Enjoy the soothing sound of the waves, the fresh sea breeze, and the scenic views of the Arabian Sea.
    • Return to your resort and unwind after a fulfilling day of exploration and history.
  • Day 3

    Watch Theyyam and Backwater house boat cruise

    • After breakfast, head to Kannur or Kasaragod to witness a mesmerizing Theyyam performance.
    • This vibrant and ancient ritualistic dance form is native to the Malabar region of Kerala.
    • After experiencing the Theyyam, drive to Nileshwar, where you will board a traditional houseboat for a scenic 2-hour lunch cruise on the Tejaswini River.
    • During the cruise, enjoy a traditional Kerala sadya (a full-course vegetarian meal) or other regional dishes, prepared freshly onboard.
    • The fresh, local ingredients and flavors will make for a delightful culinary experience.
    • By 4:00 PM, check out from the houseboat and begin your drive back to the resort.
    • The peaceful houseboat experience will leave you feeling relaxed, but there’s still some time to unwind before the evening.

    Bronze village-handloom & kayaking tour and to Kannur

    • After breakfast, check out from the resort and head to Kunhimangalam Heritage Village, renowned for its traditional craftsmanship.
    • The village is famous for hand-crafted bronze lamps, sculptures, and various curios.
    • From Kunhimangalam, continue your journey to a handloom weaving unit.
    • This will offer a deeper understanding of Kerala’s handloom tradition, which has been a part of the region’s cultural and economic fabric for centuries.
    • After the handloom experience, head to Valiyaparamba, a beautiful backwater region.
    • Here, you can walk through the tranquil surroundings and observe the local life in this picturesque area.
    • A visit to a coir-making home will give you a close-up look at one of Kerala's most iconic industries.
    • Coir, also known as the “golden fiber” of Kerala, is made from coconut husks.
    • If you're up for some adventure, you can opt for a kayaking experience in the scenic Kavvayi Backwaters.
    • This is the largest wetland in North Kerala, covering around 37 square kilometers.
    • After your kayaking adventure (if you choose to do it), proceed with the drive to Kannur, a coastal city known for its rich cultural heritage, beautiful beaches, and historic landmarks.
    • On arrival in Kannur, check into your hotel and unwind.

    Kannur city heritage tour

    • After breakfast, get ready to explore the rich heritage of Kannur.
    • Start your city heritage tour with a visit to St. Angelo’s Fort (also known as Kannur Fort).
    • This massive triangular laterite fort is strategically located facing the Arabian Sea and is one of the most historically significant landmarks in North Kerala.
    • Next, head to the Folklore Museum, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts and traditional objects related to the folklore and cultural heritage of Kerala.
    • After the museum, visit a handloom weaving center.
    • Here, you can witness the intricate art of handloom weaving, a tradition deeply embedded in Kerala’s cultural fabric.
    • Drive to Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple, one of the most famous temples dedicated to Lord Muthappan, a unique deity who is a blend of the divine and the human.
    • Next, make your way to the Snake Park in Parassinikadavu, where you can learn about the various species of snakes native to Kerala.
    • The park is dedicated to snake conservation and houses various species, including cobra, viper, and python.
    • In the late afternoon, head to Payyambalam Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Kannur, to enjoy the sunset.
    • After enjoying the sunset, head back to your hotel in Kannur for some rest and relaxation.
  • Day 6

    Thalassery heritage tour. Kannur departure

    • After enjoying a hearty breakfast at your hotel, prepare for your full-day exploration of Thalassery and its heritage sites.
    • Start your day with a visit to Muzhappilangadu Drive-in Beach, known as Asia’s longest drive-in beach.
    • This unique beach allows you to drive right along the shoreline, making it an unforgettable experience.
    • Next, head to Dharmadam Island, located off the Dharmadam Beach.
    • The island is just a short walk away during low tide.
    • After exploring the island, head to Thalassery Pier, an old landmark that once played a key role in the region’s spice trade and maritime activities.
    • Next, head to Overburry’s Folly, a seaside park with a watch tower that offers panoramic views of the surrounding coastline.
    • The park is a great place to relax and take in the natural beauty of the area.
    • Proceed to Gundert Bungalow, which was home to Dr. Hermann Gundert, a German missionary, and scholar who made significant contributions to the Malayalam language.
    • The next stop is Sree Perlassery Temple, a historic temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
    • The temple is known for its serene atmosphere and beautiful architecture.
    • One of the highlights of the tour is a visit to the Stepwell, a National Water Heritage Site.
    • Stepwells are architectural marvels that served as a source of water in times of scarcity.
    • After completing the heritage tour, you will be driven to Kannur Railway Station (CAN) or Kannur International Airport (CNN) for your onward journey, depending on your travel arrangements.

These traditional boat houses have been transformed in to luxurious floating accommodation, offering a unique way to explore the scenic backwaters and the village life around the locality. Made primarily of wood, bamboo and coir, maintaining traditional aesthetics, houseboats are quipped with modern amenities like air-conditioned bedrooms, attached bathrooms, dining areas etc. Also, all meals are served on board.
