Cherai Beach is a beach in the Cherai village of Ernakulam district of Kerala, south India. It is a part of Vypin Island. Cherai Beach is just 30 km from Kochi, the business capital of Kerala and 30 km from Cochin International Airport. The nearby towns are North Paravur(6 km)and Kodungallur (10 km) and nearest railway station is Aluva (20 km).

The 10 kilometer long Cherai Beach is the best golden beach of Kerala. We also call it as “ The Princess of the Arabian sea ”. We can find Dolphins here. The 15 km of long golden beach is very clean, shallow, and attracts swimming and sunbathing. In Cherai Beach lagoon (poyil) and ocean separated only by a few hundreds of meters. One of the main events in this beach is the tourism fest during December. Best season to visit is all throughout the year barring the rainy season (June - October). Tourists can find beach resorts and cottages close to the beach.

There is a park for children on the beach. Water Scooter and Speed Boats are available for hire. One could catch an occasional glimpse of Dolphins as they spring out and dive back into the water. The can find Chinese fishing nets in Cherai beach which is a beautiful sight by itself. A typical Kerala village with paddy fields and coconut groves nearby makes this place even more beautiful. The main attraction of Cherai is the 'Poyil' a large inland lake. It forms a part of the calm serene backwaters separated from the ocean by only a narrow sandbar.
