A trip to Sula Vineyard was on our list for quite some time, and finally, we made it happen! My wife, Sreedevi, and I set out on a weekend getaway from Mumbai to Nashik, excited for a relaxed and refreshing experience at one of India’s most famous vineyards.

Journey from Mumbai to Sula Vineyard

We started our journey at noon from Mumbai on 7th Feb 2025, hitting the road with great enthusiasm. The drive was scenic, with the changing landscapes keeping us engaged throughout. After a comfortable journey, we reached Sula by 8:30 PM, just in time to experience the vineyard in the night lights.

First Impressions and Dinner at the Wine Bar

As soon as we entered, the ambiance felt just perfect. The vineyard lit up beautifully at night, creating a mesmerizing setting. The atmosphere was vibrant yet peaceful, setting the right mood for the night. We headed straight to their wine bar for dinner, which was a delightful experience. The food was delicious, and of course, pairing it with their signature wines made it even better!

Stay at Sula Vineyard

After dinner, we checked into our room at Sula itself. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and carried a luxurious touch. A great place to unwind and relax before our vineyard tour the next day.

A Refreshing Morning at Sula

Waking up at a vineyard is a different experience altogether! The next morning started with a delicious breakfast, and since it was a weekend, wine was a part of the breakfast spread—an interesting and indulgent start to the day. After breakfast, we explored the property, enjoying their pool and jacuzzi, which added to the overall experience.

The Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting Experience

One of the perks of staying at Sula was that the vineyard tour was complimentary. Otherwise, visitors need to take a ticket, which also includes wine tasting. The tour started with an informative session on the entire wine-making process, from harvesting grapes to bottling the final product. They explained the different types of wine—white wine, red wine, and sparkling wine—along with their differences and how they are made.

The highlight of the tour was the wine tasting session, which lasted for about 20 minutes. The sommelier guided us through the correct way to taste wine—hold the glass by the stem to avoid transferring body heat, swirl the wine to oxidize and enhance its aroma, take in the fragrance, and then sip slowly to savor the taste. It was a fantastic learning experience and truly enhanced our appreciation for wine.

Lunch and Return Journey

Post the wine tour, we enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at one of their restaurants, savoring the flavors while taking in the vineyard views. With our hearts and stomachs full, we started our return journey back to Mumbai, carrying with us not just bottles of wine but also beautiful memories of our time at Sula.

Final Thoughts

Sula Vineyard is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a different kind of getaway. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just someone looking for a relaxing weekend, Sula has something for everyone. The stay, the tour, the tasting session, and the overall vibe make it a great place to visit and even recommend to others for a unique experience!
