Thalassery was known as Telissery during British rule. The place is in Kannur, India. It acted as a British settlement and thrived into a famous commercial centre. Pepper and cardamom trade was conducted here. With its spectacular secret tunnels, the magnificent fort, intrinsically carved doors and massive walls were built in 1708 AD to commemorate the East India Company, which was an integral part of the British regime. St. John\u2019s Anglican Church<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With its curious name, Overbury\u2019s Folly functions as an amusement park now. The initial concept was to build a picnic spot here. The idea belonged to E N Overbury, who dreamed of building the picnic spot. The park is now named after him. It is thus a good place to hang out in the evenings overlooking the Arabian Sea. This should not be missed at Thalassery<\/span><\/p>\n

Jagannath Temple<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvathi and the deity in the temple is believed to have formed on its own.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
