There is a port protected by Thangasseri Breakwater, located at the south &#8211; south-east point of Thangasseri Point. The beach is also known as Mahatma Gandhi Beach and offers breathtaking\u00a0views of the Arabian Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Kollam beach is also one of the few beaches in Kerala that\u00a0has a lifeguard outpost. There is a one-story marine aquarium being constructed at the beach, the work started in 2014, and would be completed soon.
